about us
We are the Holmikers, an artistic group based in the idyllic region Heidiland in the eastern part of Switzerland. Our Team consists of about 20 active gymnasts of the gymnastic club of Mels. All members are passionately doing artistics besides their fulltime job.
It all started in 1993, when the so called “horror show” was performed for the very first time at the gymnastic clubs annual event. The Holmikers were born. After this premiere the horror show was brought to near perfection and a second show “snow white and the seven dwarfs” has been created since.
In 1997, the Holmikers appeared for the very first time in a TV show - called “Verstehen Sie Spass?”. This was a big milestone in their history.
That TV appearance lead to many engagements at international events and TV shows around the world, as for example the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, the street art world championships in Shizuoka and some of the worlds leading circus festivals, for example in Russia, France, China and Monte Carlo.
For our shows we were honoured with different prices. The biggest highlight in the history of our group came in 2017, when the Holmikers were awarded a bronze clown at the world-famous International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo. This as the first - and so far only - nonprofessional artistic group.
The Holmikers stand for swiss precision and would like to give their audience a combination of risky acrobatics, surprising effects, a perfectly fitting costume and the complete harmony of movement and music. A show like an emotional roller coaster – from astonishing and scary to laughing out loud.
